In-house Psychiatrist

If you need advanced mental health support, we have a consultant psychiatrist that can attend to you. We are partners with different psychiatric who have psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists that offer support and diagnosis via online video appointments. We can arrange for you to have these sessions after you have seen and discussed your treatment options with our GPs.

All our partners are specialist in this field, and our GPs are experts in handling mental health issues. We can advise, treat and give you specialist referrals for your mental health issues.

Mental Health Specialist Panel

If you want to see a specialist and you do not reside in London, we can give you an onward specialist referral. You can also take the option of having the consultation with a panel of mental health specialist at a time and place that is suitable for you in the UK which is made possible by the video consultation service we offer.

Our GPs will explain the booking procedure to you, so you don’t have to stress yourself. We also provide ongoing psychiatric support in the clinic. We can help you out with both short and long term support for any treatment plan.

Mental Wellbeing

Mental wellbeing is a state of being personally and socially content or happy. It can be a yardstick to analyse your life and how you cope with your everyday life activities.

You can use the Warwick-Edinburgh mental wellbeing questionnaire to know what level you are on the scale of mental wellbeing; however, it is not a tool in mental health diagnosis.


Depression can be triggered by sadness, stress, anger or anxiety. It can happen to anyone at any point in their lives. However, it is speculated that people with a family of depression have a higher risk of experiencing it.

Depression symptoms vary between individual but here are some common ones

  • Sadness- when someone is easily upset or angered by their surroundings leaving them with a feeling of irritation
  • Insomnia- finding it difficult to sleep and getting out of bed
  • Change in appetite- this could be in the reduction of the increase in eating
  • Difficulty in concentration- it could affect work, reading or even watching the television. This could also be a general lack of interest in any activity
  • Drinking more than usual- drinks are sometimes used in self-medication and alcohol is a depressant which can make the symptoms of depression worst.
  • Useless or worthless feeling- always feeling useless or worthless is associated with depression and can have a negative effect on how one function.
  • Hallucinations-this occurs in extreme cases of depression. One may experience events that they think are real.

If you are experiencing one or more of these symptoms in addition to having suicidal thoughts, you should talk to someone maybe a friend, doctor or family member. It is not uncommon to be emotionally overwhelmed; that's why you need to speak to someone you trust. This is an important step in conquering depression. Anxiety is a common condition that affects many persons. It can come in different forms which include generalised anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attack, eating disorders or phobias.

Anxiety symptoms include

  • Constantly being stressed
  • Irritation
  • Always being on edge

Anxiety symptoms often present themselves in forms that seem reasonable and are being overlooked constantly like

  • Pain
  • Tiredness
  • General low feeling

Panic Attacks

In cases of a panic attack, the body goes into a fight or flight mode after a rush of intense anxiety. It usually lasts for 5 – 20 minutes. Its symptoms include

  • Trembling
  • Nausea
  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness
  • Tingling fingers
  • Choking sensation
  • Ringing in the ears

Addictions to drugs, alcohol or nicotine can be harmful to the health. Addictions are not limited to these. Gambling, shopping, work and internet addictions are also common. There are different forms of insomnia. They include

Most times, we do not have the control over situations that cause us stress, but it is important that you try to create time for yourself to rest and do things that you enjoy and can reduce your stress level. Try eating healthy, exercising, and sleeping to reduce stress. Our GPs can guide you through different methods to cope with stress and advise you on treatment plans that can help.
