Need to see a cardiologist? We can referral you to a private, experienced, cardiologist in our GP Clinic.

For the referral, you will initially need to book a 15-minutes appointment with our own very experienced general practitioners.

When do I need to see a cardiologist?

If you have symptoms of breathlessness, blackouts, heart palpitations or dizziness this may be the early signs indicative of common heart-related problems and heart disease. It is important not to ignore it and be seen bya cardiologist.

Available Heart Tests

  • Electrocardiogram (ECG).

An electrocardiogram is used to monitor the heart's rhythm and electrical activity. It is used to investigate heart conditions such as arrhythmia and coronary heart disease.

The electrocardiogram will take 30 minutes at a cost of £110 during a weekday and £140 at the weekend.  (Results are available immediately.) For an additional written report, a fee of £20 is added.

  • Exercise tolerance test.

Also known as a stress test or exercise ECG is used to diagnose coronary heart diseases. It measures the amount of blood the coronary arteries pump into the heart.

During the test the cardiologist will attach a small device to your body and ask you to exercise on a bike or thread mill. An exercise tolerance test costs £325.

  • Echocardiogram

An echocardiogram or echo is a type of ultrasound heart scan which provides information on the structure and function of the heart.

It is primarily used to diagnose heart conditions, and the cost is £450.

  • Holter monitors

A Holter monitor is a device attached to your body that measures the heartbeat for 24, 48, and 72 hours.

When an ECG does not diagnose any irregularity, and there are symptoms of a heart condition, a Holter monitor may be used to aid diagnosis.

The cost of a heart test using a Holter monitor starts at £300.

  • Single-channel ECG patch

This is a small device that performs an ECG from a single lead as opposed to the 12 leads of an ECG.

It is used to monitor and diagnose irregularities in heart rhythms.  The device will need to be worn for 7 – 14 days, depending on your symptoms or heart condition.

A single channel ECG patch costs £800.

  • 24-hour blood pressure monitor

The 24-hour blood monitor is worn at the same time as you carry on with your normal activities, similar to a Holter monitor.

It is used for an ambulatory blood pressure monitoring when your blood pressure is measured and recorded for 24 hours.

When do I get my results?

For most procedures as soon as the tests are completed or when you return to the clinic with the monitor, if fitted, and a report will be sent to you by email or phone usually within 2 days. If you require a follow-up appointment after your results there is an additional cost of £10.
